Alberta Premier League forward Sariyah Bailey is headed to the international stage after being named to Canada’s 21-player roster for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™.

The Edmonton native has represented St. Albert Impact from 2024 through the 2026 season and is one of five forwards selected by Canada Soccer Women’s U-20 National Team Head Coach Cindy Tye for September’s tournament.

Bailey’s selection marks another milestone along a pathway that has taken her from Alberta’s domestic game to the NCAA and now to one of the biggest stages in international youth soccer.

The forward currently competes for Louisiana State University and has remained connected to St. Albert Impact through the 2026 APL season.

Bailey is also part of a wider group of players on Canada’s roster with connections to Premier Soccer Leagues Canada. Across the Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia pathways, 16 of the 21 players selected have ties to PSLC competition and its player development environments.

Canada heads to Poland as reigning Concacaf Women’s U-20 champions after winning the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship. Canada secured its World Cup berth by reaching the semifinals before going on to defeat Mexico in extra time in the Final to capture its third regional title and first since 2008.

The Canadians have been drawn into Group B and will begin their tournament against England on Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. MT. They will then face Brazil on Sept. 8 at 7 a.m. MT before closing the group stage against Tanzania on Sept. 11 at 7 a.m. MT.

All three matches will be played at Stadion Miejski in Bielsko-Biała.

Poland 2026 will mark Canada’s 10th appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Canada’s best result came at the inaugural tournament in 2002, when it earned silver on home soil.
